On Friday 25th August 2017 Hurricane Harvey hit the state of Texas in America, causing massive destruction. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, khidmat guzaar of FMB along with other mumineen joined to provide relief to mumineen and others alike.
On Monday 27th August 2017 700 thaali were sent to 350 homes of mumineen.
Owing to the circumstances cooks could not make it to the kitchen. Availing the opportunity mumineen took the initiative, and cooked food themselves.
Food was not only sent to mumineen, but arrangements were made for food to be sent to shelters for hurricane affectees as well.
Daily 600 food packets were sent to CW and GB Convention Centers.
On Thursday 3200 food packets were sent, and from Friday onwards 1800 food packets daily were sent to the shelters.
In order to deliver food to the mumineen and shelters, trucks were also used. Mumineen also helped the affectees to be evacuated from the affected areas.
Over 10,000 food packets were sent to relief shelters in Houston
Due to these efforts Mayor of Houston and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee were grateful to Huzurala TUS and mumineen for helping everyone in their time of need.
Mumineen have seen countless times, how Huzurala TUS has not only helped mumineen in their troubles, but also benefitted mankind with his revered kindness. Projects such as Saifee Hospital, SBUT and countless others are a reminder that mumin should not only help his brother mumin, but all mankind for them being the creation of Allah. And mumineen have adhered to Moula’s teaching and strive to help as many as people possible.
