All living beings thrive on receiving adequate nourishment. There may be many facilities, whose deprival may not result scarcity of life, but without food no living being can be called living. Awliyah Kiraam AS have always guided mumineen towards the lofty deed of feeding others, with the reward it encompasses and the gratitude the one who is fed feels. Huzurala TUS has stated in his myriad of discourses that the one who is fed does not require to pray for the host. His body automatically prays for him when the food reaches him.
Faizul Mawaidil Burhaniyah has encompassed every mumin. By the Dua Mubarak of Al-Dai Al-Ajal Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA, there may be no mumin who sleeps hungry. However it is the benevolence of Al-Dai Al-Ajal Syedna Aaliqadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS that this endeavor is now reaching other human beings as well. In order to counter the wastage and disposal of excess food, Dana Committee was formed, who ensure that the leftovers reach those who need them.
Initiatives have also been taken in past to deliver food to those affected by natural calamities and under privileged citizens on various occasions.
On the 16th of October each year, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations celebrates World Food Day to inspire people to fight against global hunger and food wastage. The theme this year was to strive for a hunger-free world by the year 2030.
FMB and Dana Committees along with students and educators of various schools participated in the drive throughout the world. Following activities were conducted during the drive:
Food banks were set-up for collection of non-perishable food items to be given to charities or distributed among the needy.
Poster making competition displaying world hunger issues and how to solve them.
Awareness walks were conducted in which students carrying placards conveyed the message of hunger and zero food wastage.
Lectures and talks on subject of global hunger.
Over 120 food banks were set up throughout the world. Food was distributed to orphanages, old age homes, hospitals and various NGOs. Food was also directly distributed amongst ibadullah as well.
HuzuralaTUS has always guided us to be exemplary citizens, and show kindness not only towards other mumineen but to all human beings. His guidance helps us to be better people and be an active and helpful part of the society.
May Allah grant our beloved MoulaTUS a long, healthy and prosperous life till the Day of Qayamat. ‘Ameen’
